DIY Kit: Picnic Table & Bench

Gather your dolls around the table for a yummy meal with this Picnic Table and Bench. To purchase this DIY Kit, please click here for the table and here for the bench. You can also order the assembled versions from the same links. Let's get started with assembly.

Your kit includes everything you see in the above picture.

Picnic Table:

-tabletop

-2 bases

-cross support

Picnic Bench:

-benchtop

-2 bases

You will need to supply the following items:

-craft glue

-spray paint and/or stains in colors of your choice

-220 grit sandpaper

Start by sanding the tabletop, bench top, and cross support. You can just do a quick sand with 220-grit sandpaper to smooth all the edges. If you plan to stain the bases, you'll need to sand off the burned edges. If you plan to stain anything, do so before assembly because oil-based stain will not adhere to water-based glue.

To assemble the base, add glue to the 2 base pieces in the cut out parts. Add the cross support beam and make sure everything is square. All the glue to dry.

I chose to spray paint my bases so painting needs to be done before attaching the bases to the tops. 2-3 light, even coats should do the trick.

To assemble the table, apply glue to the tops of the 2 base pieces and place the base on the bottom of the tabletop. Allow the glue to dry completely.

The picnic table is ready for dollhouse dining.

To assemble the bench, apply glue to the tops of the 2 base pieces and place the bases on the bottom of the benchtop. Allow the glue to dry completely.

Now it's time to pull up the picnic bench to the table and have a tiny meal.
