Your baby will have sweet dreams in this precious moon cradle. To purchase this DIY Kit, please click here. You can also order the assembled version from the same link. Let's get started with assembly. I will say up front that this is the trickiest assembly I offer. It's not too hard, but it requires a lot of patience as you hold pieces while the glue dries.
Your kit includes everything you see in the above picture.
-2 sides
-2 thin frames
-flexible back
-2 feet
You will need to supply the following items:
-craft glue
-super glue
-220 grit sandpaper
-spray paint and/or stains in colors of your choice
If you plan to stain the cradle., you'll need to sand off the burned edges and stain before assembly. Use 220-grit sandpaper to lightly sand off burn marks.
Start by applying glue to the thin frames (these are what the flexible back will attach to). Add the thin frame to the backside of each of the moon sides. There should be a gap of about 1/8 of an inch around the edge of the moon side (see the last picture above). If necessary, use a heavy book to apply pressure while the glue dries. For this step, I prefer to use craft glue so I have time to adjust the frames before the glue dries.
This is the tricky part. Apply about half an inch of super glue to the frame and attach the flexible back. Hold in place until the super glue is dry. Repeat the same step for the other side. Allow the glue to dry completely on both sides. The flexible back should now be securely attached to the 2 sides.
Apply super glue to the rest of both of the thin frames and gently stretch the flexible back all the way around the frames. Hold the flexible back in place until the glue completely dries.
Use glue to attach the 2 feet. Space them slightly apart so the cradle can stand on its own without rocking.
