Every nursery needs a rocking chair. How else will you get that tiny baby to sleep? To purchase this DIY Kit, please click here. You can also order the assembled version (which includes cushions) from the same link. Let's get started with assembly.
Your kit includes everything you see in the above picture.
-base panel
-back panel
-small front panel
-2 sides
You will need to supply the following items:
-craft glue
-220 grit sandpaper
-paint and/or stains in colors of your choice
-cushions (I have a tutorial about how to make dollhouse cushions)
If you plan to stain or leave the chair unfinished, use a fine grit sandpaper to sand away the burn marks on the front and back of each piece. If you plan to paint the chair, I recommend doing so after assembly.
Find your base panel first: it's slightly smaller than the back panel. Apply a thin line of craft glue to edge of each side of the base (see first picture above). Attach the back panel to the base (see second picture above). Attach the small front panel to the other side of the base (see third picture above). Allow glue to set for a couple of minutes.
Turn the frame on its side, and apply a thin line of glue to the exposed edges (see first picture above). Attach a side panel to the frame (see second picture above), and repeat on the other side. Allow the glue to dry completely. Check out my tutorial for how to make cushions.
